Sorry this didn't help. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. When I try to open microsoft office nothing happens. There is no error message etc. I have tried repairing office in control panel but it says it cannot complete this action.

In theory CTR may be an "improvement", in practice it has been proving to just be another layer of software to break. And it does, as you have experienced. The download process automatically distributes CTR if your connection is "fast enought". But if you know the magic incantation you can get a "normal" installation file.

Since you have to reinstall anyway, now is a good time to switch back, if you want. Switch to using an MSI-based Office edition only applies to versions bought online. Thanks for your feedback.
